Wild Food Walk & Talk

If you’ve been wanting to start your journey with wild foods we’d love you to join us for one of our first walks of the season for an early summer forage in the hills of Howth.

We’ll guide you through the steps on how to safely and sustainably identify and pick an array of wild edibles. We will start along the coast in Sutton and make our way up the windy back hills of Howth and learn to identify up to 20 wild edible plants. It will be an interactive walk where you’ll be encouraged to touch, smell and taste the plants. We’ll discuss the history, identifying features as well as the different medicinal and culinary uses for each plant.

We’ll have plenty of time for questions, there will be some delicious tasters and teas and a chance to look through some foraging books if the weather allows.

This walk will include some slightly uneven terrain and a slight incline in some parts. Please dress appropriately in walking boots or sturdy runners that you don’t mind getting a bit mucky if it’s wet. And of course, we will hope for a sunny day but there’s always a chance of rain so do bring a raincoat or a hat with you to stay dry and warm.

Many people like to sketch and take notes as we discuss plants, others like taking photos and others are happy to just listen and learn. Feel free to take with you whatever will help you remember all of the lovely plants we’ll discover on the day.

The cost of this walk is €25 and will run from 3pm - 5pm with time to chat and try some tasters afterwards. Spaces will be limited to a group of 12 so booking is essential to reserve your space. The exact starting location will be sent you once you're ready to book in.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me here.

Please enter the €25 fee and your full name and the date of the workshop you wish to attend in the notes section when booking.
